Professional Background
During graduate school, I worked at a nonprofit agency where I provided trauma-informed care to individuals navigating substance use challenges and supported young mothers during pivotal and often overwhelming life transitions. This experience deepened my commitment to meeting clients with empathy, respect, and an understanding of the complex systems that shape their lives. I later transitioned into private practice, where I worked with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, and major life transitions.
Currently, I work full-time at Eating Recovery Center in Bethesda, where I support both children and adults struggling with eating disorders and body image concerns.
My Therapy Style
My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and collaboration, believing that each person is the expert on their own life.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I look beyond the challenges that bring someone to therapy and consider the bigger picture—the relationships, experiences, and environments that have shaped them. This perspective helps me understand not only what someone is struggling with, but also the strengths and resources they already possess.
I especially enjoy working with anxiety, body image concerns, self-esteem, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by constant worry, stuck in cycles of overthinking, or exhausted from being their own harshest critic. Others struggle with feeling “not good enough,” comparing themselves to others, or feeling disconnected from their bodies and themselves. Using approaches such as CBT and ACT, I work alongside clients to build insight, develop coping skills, and create a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
